By leveraging our collective strength, ABC accomplishes what no individual member can do on its own.

We represent the needs of all blood operators before decisionmakers at the federal level and promote national awareness about blood donation and the role of community blood centers. At the heart of our work is our Value Framework and Advocacy Agenda. These living documents were developed with the input of our membership and drive our work. Knowing that change is constant, we continually scan the environment to stay up-to-date on current challenges and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow. Our work is only successful when it helps reduce the burdens on our member blood centers and promotes the value they bring to their communities.

Membership Categories

America’s Blood Centers has multiple membership categories designed to meet your needs.

Regular membership for not-for-profit independent blood centers licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Honorary membership for individuals or organizations who have made a significant contribution to the fields of blood banking or transfusion medicine, and who made outstanding contributions in support of the mission of the Organization

Hospital-based associate membership for not-for-profit hospital-based donor collection centers

Emeritus membership for individuals elected by the active members who have held a position with an active or associate member and are now retired from the profession

Affiliate membership for organizations other than a blood center that supports the mission of ABC in serving the common good of donors

A special member who is a group purchasing organization which represents active members of the Organization
